FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Quick answers about our coverage, our service area, and how working with an independent agency actually works. Don't see your question? Reach out any time.

What does it mean that Mayson Insurance Agency is "independent"?

It means we're not employed by or tied to any single insurance company. We shop your coverage across multiple carriers in our network and recommend whatever actually fits your situation best — not just one company's product.

What personal insurance coverage do you offer?

Homeowners, auto, renters, umbrella, life, boat & RV, flood, condo, jewelry, e-bike, motor home, and collectible car insurance, among other personal lines. See our Coverage page for the full list.

What business insurance coverage do you offer?

General liability, commercial auto, workers' compensation, a Business Owners Policy (BOP), professional liability (E&O), cyber liability, commercial property, umbrella/excess liability, and landlord/rental dwelling coverage, among others. See our Business Insurance page for more.

What states are you licensed in for personal insurance?

We're licensed to write personal insurance in New Jersey, New York, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.

Can you write business insurance outside of NJ, NY, DE, and PA?

Yes — business and commercial insurance can be written in all 50 states.

How do I get a quote?

Fill out the quote form on our Get a Quote page, or call or text us at 908.379.0959. We'll ask a few questions about your situation and shop your coverage across our carrier network.

Is there a cost or obligation to get a quote?

No. Quotes are free and there is no obligation to purchase.

What insurance carriers do you work with?

As an independent agency, we have access to a network of carriers including Progressive, Travelers, The Hartford, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, Chubb, and many others. Carrier availability varies by state, product line, and underwriting guidelines.

Do I need business insurance if I'm a sole proprietor or freelancer?

Usually, yes. Even without employees, most sole proprietors and freelancers carry some form of general liability or professional liability coverage — often because a client, landlord, or contract requires proof of insurance before work can begin.

How quickly can coverage start?

Timing depends on the carrier and type of coverage, but once you choose a policy we can often get coverage started quickly — in many cases, the same day. Your advisor will walk you through the exact timeline for your situation.

What should I do if I need to file a claim?

Call or text us at 908.379.0959, or reach out to your carrier directly using the contact information on your policy documents. We're happy to help guide you through the claims process.
